We have been in Bend for a few days. We have changed our original route a couple of times. This area has experienced the greatest snowfall in the last decade. Many roads are still closed. Many lakes are close to overflowing and the rivers are full. These conditions are preventing us from going into Yellowstone as we had planned. The weather continues to be rainy and the forecast looks the same.
The joy of no schedule and no plan is being able to adapt. So we are heading north. Central Washington looks warmer and drier. Then a visit with Kathy & Ben (Jeff's sister & her husband)in Snohomish. From Snohomish we will visit Victoria Island and then east in British Columbia to Banff. Our only schedule is to meet the Talberts on June 20th in Jasper.

found you via the story in the register! i look forward to reading your blog as you travel north. my parents spent the summer in alaska in their RV last year, and i know they are anxious to go back. i keep telling my mom she needs a blog. i think she is going to try to email you some good spots in alaska.
happy and safe travels!
Another reader from the OCR here. I was wondering if you would be willing to hare some of your financial planning and decisions made that allow you to do this terrific adventure. We are considering this type of life change in the coming years and it is very difficult to find real info on individual planning and milestones used to determine when the time is right.

I also read your story in the OCR and wish you all the best!! Have you ever been to Glass Beach by Fort Bragg? I know you already passed it, but with family here, (I'm in Brea too!), you might be able to check it out when you come to visit. Take care and let the adventure continue!!
Saw your story online and wanted to drop a line to say I am truly happy you are taking action and living your dream. I help people achieve retirement all the time, and when we talk about their goals, many say they would like to RV. But once they actually leave their jobs, it's more often than not they don't end up going for their dreams, whatever they may be. So congrats to you! Safe travels and many happy memories!
